Canvas Prints Deal - A really good one!

Remember when I told you that I finally ordered some wedding photos here? Well, when I ordered them I got one heck of deal and the deal is back so I thought I would be nice and share.

The deal is through a site called Eversave which is a site similar to Groupon.

Right now you can order...
1 - 16x20 for $30
OR
2 - 16x20s for only $40. That's a freakin awesome deal right there people.  Usually the lowest I see on Groupon is $39 for 1 - 16x20.

You know what else is cool though? When I ordered last time I didn't have to order the 16x20s. Basically, I just got the dollar amount of what the 16x20 normally was and I got to use it on whatever. So I actually ordered a 24x36 (I think??) and a 12x12 and it was only $40!!!! Plus I ordered 2 of the 16x20s as Mothers Day presents for both my mom and Seth's mom. They loved them:)

Only bad news is that today's the last day to order so jump on it! This is my referral link but it may actually get you a discount too...not positive so let me know if you try it and it does.

In case you forgot what they looked like. This is the 24x36.
I promise my walls aren't diaper green also....they're actually brown...

Quality looks terrible in this photo but that's what you get
with low lighting and filters on an iPhone. Real quality is actually great!
As soon as you order you can actually email someone or post it to any social media and they put $2 in your account for a future purchase:) Gotta love those deals!

P.S. I'm a cheapo so I don't order things like this unless it's a good deal and good quality. I just reordered 2 more of the 2-16x20's so I'm gonna have 4 new prints soon! Yippee.

7 Quick Takes {8}

1. I am not a happy camper today. Seth was supposed to be moving home in less than a week and he now has to go to another job for a month! One year and nine months of marriage and we have yet to live together. This is getting old. As am I.

2. On a brighter note I am currently in the process of planning a vacation, or second honeymoon as I like to think of it. I definitely want something warm and beachy and am thinking another cruise, because I love them, but I'm not sure that Seth is sold on the idea. I would love to hear suggestions of places you have been and loved. Nothing too crazy expensive and we are going for probably a week so keep that in mind when thinking of how long it takes to get there. (P.S. Anyone been to Maldives? I keep seeing pictures of this place and it looks like heaven on Earth.)

This is how excited about vacation I am!
3. Taking the little sis-in-law, she's 8, to see an outdoor performance of Peter Pan tomorrow night. Should be lots of fun and hopefully it's not too crazy hot. Growing up with two younger brothers it's nice to finally have a little sis to spoil.

4. I'm trying to majorly cut back on my pop intake. So far this week I have only drank it one day but the real test will be the weekend. I don't know why I think this is so hard but it really is. I love it like a fat kid loves cake.

5. My parents are in the middle of building their new house which is exciting and lots of fun (maybe a tad stressful) but it keeps making me want to change things at our house. Nothing major just change a lot of paint colors and remove some not so gorgeous wallpaper. Too bad I'm too indecisive to pick out colors so I always pick out the same color. For every room.

Obsessed with this color.
6. Doing a Senior pictures photoshoot tonight with my cousin Sophia. I must say I'm pretty excited about it since this girl is gorgeous and such a sweetie! I will try to remember to post some of the photos back here later on.

7. I can't believe it's already the middle of July. Summer is flying by faster than I realized and I can't help but think there are still way too many fun summery things I want to do before it ends. With Seth out of town all the time it's so hard to really get in the summery spirit. Most days I just want to go home and lay on my couch like a bum. It's no fun to grill out and sit on the back deck by yourself. At least I'm assuming it's not. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds pretty depressing. Hoping this weekend will turn this Debbie Downer into an Uplifting Ursula.

Moving on...I think I'll take Uncle Si's advice.

4th of July Crafting

It's FRIDAY!! Okay, so it's not really Friday but it's my last work day of the week which essentially means, it's Friday. If it's not your Friday, please excuse my exuberance in this post.

I'm ready for 4 beautiful days of nothing but fun times on fun times on fun times. Hubs will be on his way home from Texas in a few short hours and then we are heading over to a 3rd of July party to get the weekend started right.

We've got a great weekend planned in Kansas City, Kansas City here we come (feel free to sing along.) Look forward to that update next week.

Well, on to business.

As I think I have already explained. I love the 4th. A lot. So, I've been doing a few crafts to help me celebrate.

A lovely little banner wreath on our front door.

Then I painted a few colorful blocks.

Mod Podged and freehanded a couple letters...
And BOOM! A patriotic bathroom. (nevermind the fuzzy-ness)
Find the patriotic printable here
Looking forward to an amazing weekend. Remember, don't shoot your eye out!

How to be more productive

I've figured out how to make your life more productive and I'm sharing the secret!

Start a blog.

Yep, that's all you have to do. (Well you have to write in it too, obviously.)

Seriously, since I have started blogging, my life has gotten way more productive. Everytime I see, do, or think something, I think to myself, "hmm, I wonder if this would make a good blog post?" or "wow, this would make a good blog post."

Is that pathetic? Is that what all bloggers do? As I've said, I'm new to the blog world, but I can't help but think that I'm not the only one thinking these thoughts.

I also don't think I'm the only one that does things around my house or in my life so that I have good blogging material. Honestly, if I wasn't productive my life blog would look something like this.

Woke up.
Went to work.
Came home.
Watched tv Downton Abbey.
Went to bed.

As wonderful a blog as that would make, I like to think that my 3 readers deserve a little more.

So now that blogging has entered my life...

I craft.
Here

I bake.
Here

Sometimes decorate or DIY some type of upcycled randomness.
I look for bargains.
Here

I garden.
Here
I clean.
This room is in the process of being cleaned/organized. Here
I organize. (See above)
And, I document. (See above)

That's right, I take pictures of anything and everything that I'm doing, eating, visiting. Then, when I'm inspired to post, I have some lovely little photos to go right around with the writings.

I would like to point out that I did (and still do) all the things listed above before blogging. And, I don't just do those things because I have a blog. However, I do some of the items more frequently than I use to. I don't procrastinate nearly as much and I get excited about doing some of the items that I might otherwise dread. Overall, blogging has, so far, been a positive influence in my life and I hope the productiveness continues.

Since my husband benefits from some of the items above, I would say that he enjoys my productive blog life as well:)

xoxo,
Julie

Valentines Day

I must admit that I'm not an over the top lover of Valentines day. I mean, I like it just fine. I have nothing against it. I guess it's just not my thing.

Typically I don't really do anything for Valentines Day except go to dinner with my husband, which is the best way to celebrate if you ask me. This year though, I decided to test Valentines day out a little bit by doing some decorating.

Honestly, I'm not sure why. My husband is out of town working and the only person that has seen the decorations, besides myself, is Gunnar (my dog). Pretty sure he didn't even notice though. Oh well.

I took things pretty easy this year and only decorated my fireplace and mantle.

Here's the normal look of my fireplace...

...and here's the decorated version.

I didn't want to spend a ton of money on decorations so most of the decor is random stuff around my house. I did splurge and buy the "XO" letters at Hobby Lobby and then paint them a shimmery red color.

The little white vases I found at a thrift store for .50 cents each.
I used them as part of table decor in my wedding.

The hurricane vases I got from Seth's Grandma.
I filled them with pink paper punches (that I saved from the trashcan at work).

I also used the pink paper punches to attach to ribbon and hang from the shutters.

Prom photo from my Senior year of high school in 2005!
Seth came home from college to take me:)

I honestly can't remember where I got this gumball machine. I'm guessing probably a thrift store. I guarantee I didn't pay over $3 for it though and it's one of the cool old ones that really works. I want to fill it with candy hearts but I haven't been to the store since I decorated. Maybe next year.

I also splurged on 1 sheet of sparkly red scrapbook paper that I cut and taped to ribbon.

The little mailbox is from the $1 section of Target (love that place) and I had the "Love" magnet already. The black and white sign was a wedding gift that I LOVE and always stays on my mantle. I also just pulled a bunch of pink books from my book shelf to help vary the height of things.

Well, I guess that's the end of the mantle tour.

Here's the sappy part if you want to quit reading....

Happy Valentines Day to my very best friend and husband, Seth. When we started dating 11 years ago it changed my life for the best and I'm so happy to be your wife and grow old with you. You make everyday wonderful and continue to spoil me even when it's not Valentines Day. I love you and can't wait to see you tomorrow to celebrate with dinner and a movie (cause we're old like that;).

XOXO,
Julie
