Weekend Adventures and some GORGEOUS photos!

Only way to beat those monday blues is by re-living the weekend.

1. Made some yummy blueberry pancakes Saturday morning mid-day for breakfast.

2. My parent's house is coming along slowly but surely. Hopefully they will move in soon so I can get all their junk out of my basement:)

3. Hung out with the little sis-in-law this weekend. She's 8 and pretty much my mini-me.

4. Cleaning out the closet, possibly my favorite new outfit.

5. SIL showing some attitude in her new birthday outfit she picked out. 

6. Picked some fresh veggies from the garden. I'm SO happy it's tomato season again. And for all those non-tomato lovers out there...what is wrong with you?! 

7. Closet in need of some major tlc and a large clothing purge.

8. Veggies became dinner last night. Cucumber onion and tomato salad. So fresh. So good. 

9. Did a little spray painting for a quick project I will hopefully be posting soon. 

10. Me and SIL relaxing at the outdoor theatre waiting for The Sound of Music to start. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

11. Gunnar helping me price garage sale bargains for Saturdays sale.

12. Took some Senior photos of my gorgeous cousin Sophia. 

Weekend Recap and Lobsters

It's the most dreaded day of the week again, Monday! Actually my Monday's aren't too terrible. The work load is usually pretty light which is convenient since I'm always sleepy. Today is no exception. 

Seth was home for the weekend so I knew I was in for some type of manual labor. I'm pretty sure he has forgotten what it means to take it easy or relax on the weekends since that is the only time he is home to get anything done. Luckily, he didn't have anything too crazy in mind. 

I managed to sleep in until 9:30 Saturday which hardly ever happens anymore, so that was pretty nice. I woke up just in time to throw on some old clothes and ride into town, with Seth, to get some diesel for the skid loader and a cookie for breakfast. I know, healthy choices people! 

We came home and I decided, with a friendly nudge from my adorable husband, to finally stain our beck deck. It has only been two years-ish since we power-washed and bought the stain so I don't see what the big rush is, but it was a sunny day so I happily obliged. Happily only because I knew I could get my tan on at the same time. Plus I could jam out to Pandora. 

About an hour in to the staining, I decided that sunblock would probably be a good idea. Apparently an hour was a little too long to wait or else year old sunblock is not a good idea. Either way, my back is a lobster. A bright red, freshly boiled, lobster. 

See, I look like a lobster.

Quite the upgrade, if I may say so.

My husband decided to reward all my hard work/tan burn time with dinner and a movie. Steak and potatoes. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in The Internship, good stuff I tell ya. (I should probably note that my husband did yard work will I stained the deck. Don't want anyone to freak that my husband makes me do work while he does nothing.)

Sunday was uneventful and included a nap, my husband staying home an extra night and some buttery popcorn. A good day in my books. 

Heading home after work to take an apple cider vinegar bath. Supposedly it helps keeps your sunburn from peeling?? Not too optimistic over here.

Marvelous Monday

How do you know the $1 garage sale DVD's are cheap knockoffs? (This isn't a joke, btw) When the combo disk includes The Passion of the Christ and Fifty First Dates. Seriously?? I totally would have bought a couple of the other movies because I thought they were legit until I stumbled across that one. Ha.

Nothing like getting up at 4:15 am to stumble through peoples garages looking for bargains. Even though I may have not ended up with an awesome movie combo (which I now regret buying) I did have lots of fun since I went with one of my aunts and two of my cousins. We searched through hundreds, okay maybe not hundreds (even though there were hundreds) of sales and my cousins managed to find lots of cute stuff for their kiddos. Since I have no kiddos, now or within at least nine months, I managed to escape without much. I spent the majority of my money on breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that factoid considering my love for food. I did manage to find a box of cool canning jars that I'm pretty stoked about though. The sales were all at Ft. Leavenworth in the military housing which is actually pretty cool to see if you ever get the chance. Apparently they have one huge sale every year and it seems like almost every other house has their garage opened for potential bargain hunters. Pretty neat.

It may be Monday but I'm pretty sure today has the potential to be the highlight of the week because my iPhone has arrived!! I'm seriously so pumped that I finally got it and I can't wait for the end of work so I can go get it activated. If anyone has some awesome app suggestions I would love to hear them!

I ordered a couple cute phone cases off of Amazon today. One pink and one a light minty green. A couple of my favorite colors in case you can't tell by my current blog background. I also ordered some screen protectors and an Otterbox Armor case for my husbands phone. I guess the Armor case can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes and it's crush proof up to 2000 pounds or something like that. Hopefully, since I dropped a small fortune on the case he will manage to keep his phone alive until it's at least paid off. Has anyone had that case before? Seth's in the construction field and is constantly around heavy machinery and water so I feel like it was probably a good investment.

Oh, and another Happy Monday for me, it's approximately 80 degrees here and I'm in love with it. Yesterday I was able to lay out on my back deck for awhile and get some sun which was fantastic but two days of gorgeousness after this awful winter is blowing my mind right now!
